Jonesy started a new exercise regimen today. He parks his car at
"an undisclosed location" and walks to work from there. It took
him an hour today and he's "absolutely knackered." Mr. Shovel
recovered from a bout with a sinus infection.

Guest: Eddie Vedder. Steve and Eddie talked about last weeks
memorial service for Johnny Ramone. They played some Who songs
"Can't Explain" and "Behind Blue Eyes."Eddie also played a Phil
Ochs songs w/ altered, anti-Republican lyrics. "That gave me
goosepimples." Jonesy commented when Eddie was done. Eddie said he
wouldn't have played it if Johnny was alive. (Johnny was a staunch
Republican.)

Jonesy was eating a cheese roll as the show began. Mr. Shovel has
strep throat, despite all his wiping and scrubbing of the studio.
'My honey's sick," Jonesy commented. He attended a gallery opening
last night that featured photos of '70s rock 'n' roll in L.A.

Steve got a massage from a real massage therapist yesterday, & she
thanked him for not trying any "funny business." He slept like a
baby afterward, he reported.

Guest: Rick Rubin. Rick played a song by John Frusciante that was
supposed to be on the "Brown Bunny" soundtrack, & some rap, talked
about the new albums he's producing (System Of A Down, etc.) and
is no longer a vegan. He and Jonesy are teetotalers, but Mr.
Shovel is still into the coffee thing. The Johnny Ramone memorial
is this afternoon at Hollywood Forever cemetery. Rick talked about
how Johnny and Joey worked together for but didn't talk to each
other for years.

Jonesy got a platinum record from Joan Jett and her manager for "I
Love Rock & Roll" at the Camp Freddy gig the other night. (He
played on some of the tracks but was never credited.) "I was
looking for a check in there but there wasn't any."Steve said. "I
might sell it on E-bay." he joked. A writer from the London Daily
Telegraph was in the studio interviewing him during the show.

"Do you like lingerie?" Steve asked Mr. Shovel. "Depends who's
wearing it," sez Mr S. Steve doesn't like g-strings on girls, he
prefers white undies w/ "strawberries on 'em", thinks the g-string
wearing types are "trying too hard." Steve talked about hanging
out by Ronnie Wood's house back in the day. Ronnie was really nice
and would talk to the fans. Of course, one day Steve swiped a TV
and overcoat from Ronnie's guesthouse. Steve is a big fan of
