Nothing to do with the Jukebox

Years ago when Indie started it was an amazing thing that struck some people deeply and made them find a way to come together and enjoy the music that they liked, or even more loved, over the air in Los Angeles.

That changed . A year ago the station started to change and then shows were shifted about and playlists changed but still a loose knit group of people stayed in touch. I never met any of them, just not my thing to do, let alone had any contact that gained me anything from Indie , some replied too emails but nothing more. On Sunday one of Indies original supporters and staunchest intial listeners passed away. I know nobody at the station knows or cares, as it is a commercial enterprise , but i would just like to make note in passing. Some people who knew cared.
If i felt right enough to pass on the private emails and messages that were generated by this personality i would do so but do not feel comfortable doing that . Trying to control the force of nature that she was... it was definitely an interesting thing to be involved in.

Myspace

Peace and thinking of the kid.
I know himself was a big Damned fan as his mom asked Dicky to play them for his birthday, and Dicky got Rat Scabies to do the dedication, but these lyrics strike a more important chord for me at this time....

The Clash; "Stay Free"

" 'cos years have passed and things have changed
and i move anyway i wanna go
i'll never forget the feeling i got
when i heard that you'd got home
an' i'll never forget the smile on my face
'cos i knew where you would be
an' if you're in the crown tonight
have a drink on me
but go easy...step lightly...stay free"

( reminded of this by Will Swaims leaving from OC weekly. The Clash are never wrong )
