Steve & Gary talked about Brit comedians from the ''60s-- Dudley Moore, Ernie Wise, etc. were funny on stage but "bitter little blokes" in real life & Peter Sellers "had a dodgy ticker but loved shagging." "Well, comedians are manic-depressive," Gary observed. They didn't have Prozac, etc in those days, "all they had was Johnnie Walker," Steve commented. Gary talked about how he liked doing "JFK" but wasn't too keen on doing "Sid & Nancy" til he found out they would pay him $35,000.

Lots of good songs today. The first hour was more "easy listening" as a reaction to the gloomy weather, the second half was rockin'. Also, commercials today included a voting PSA by Paris Hilton, which Steve found amusing.

Guest: Nancy Sinatra. She's currently on tour Nancy's website & playing the Knitting Factory in L.A. tonight. Told a story about going to Peter Sellars & Britt Ekland's house and eating brownies which unbeknowst to her turned out to be-you guessed it-hash brownies.Somehow they got on the subject of shampoo. Steve uses a tar-smelling dandruff shampoo. He doesn't have dandruff though. So Nancy smells his hair. "Smells good." she sez. "I haven't washed it in two weeks!" Jonesy replies. Steve played Sid's version of "My Way", which Nancy had never heard before.
Guests: Mick Jones, photographer Kate Simon Mick was in London, getting ready to perform w/ his new band Carbon Silicone with Tony James. Kate called in to promote her book "Rebel Music-Bob Marley & Roots Reggae" Rebel Music Steve's rant for the day--he doesn't like valet parking. "You just don't like to tip," Mr. Shovel commented.

Steve told a story about when he first got off drugs & used to take the bus to Van Nuys and sell his plasma for $50, then takes the bus back to "sleep on some bloke's couch." Also reminisced about playing Disneyland with Adam Ant in the '80s.

Guest:Mooney Suzuki They played a few songs live and gave away an amplifier. The winner happened to be female. "What if she doesn't play an instrument?" Steve wondered. "She can give it to her loser musician boyfriend," he joked. "Yeah, who sleeps on the floor," one of the band members quipped. "And then she comes home from stripping and gives him all her money." Steve added, finishing up the familiar joke about musicians & strippers.(No, the winner was not a stripper, they were just joking.)
Today Jonesy complained about tip jars at coffee bars. "It's the owners' fault for not paying good wages and the consumer has to make up for it." he says. He also prefers "separate beds" after a tryst. "I don't like sleeping with someone else. The bird's always moving around, burping, farting.." "What kind of girls do you go out with?" Mr. Shovel asked, bemused. "And then around three a.m. I get up and go to the couch and the bird is all offended. 'Why won't you sleep next to me?'"
