Steve went to the L.A. magazine party last night at the Friars Club, then had lamb chops at the Palms. "Why is dessert last?" Jonesy wonders. Jonesy doesn't do dodgy stuff anymore and is "an upstanding citizen."

Mr. Shovel read a letter from Los Angeles Magazine saying that they've named Jonesy DJ of the Year & inviting him (& a guest) to a party. Mr. S hinted that he wants to be the guest, but Jonesy wants "a bird in a long gown" instead. Jonesy has a new cell phone that has a spacy, New Agey type ringtone. Also, Jonesy's new mic is limp.
Songs included: Pony Club-Stop Hal-What A Lovely Dance Millbrook Cathedral-Meet In The Field

Jonesy went to some showbiz party at the Hollywood Roosevelt last night. Yet another Journey song today "Stoned In Love."
Billy's playing at the Henry Fonda Last night and tonight. Jonesy is seeing the 50 train coming along pretty quick i think.
They also talked about embarrassing photos and Steve thought his from the LongHair days were bad. Maybe i should scan the picture that they had in Q magazine they have of his face all shiny and smooth. :-)
Guest: Billy Corgan. Billy diagnosed the cause of Jonesy's itchy legs-mites!! "I had mites twice," sez Billy, "happens from sleeping in bad hotels and on strange girls' floors." Jonesy swears he's done neither lately. Lotsa talk about past lives, religion, the Bible, death, flying, Chicago, scientists, holograms, girls with bubble butts, etc. Jonesy wants to retire to his own island with a Polynesian girl, ala Marlon Brando. Jonesy got laid a lot in the '80s when he had long hair and rode a motorcycle. Billy mentioned the book /Holographic Universe/ by Michael Talbot (Link:***Holographic Universe
* **********Billy played "Now (& Then)" from his new CD "The Future Embrace" on acoustic guitar in the studio. "Sounds like America!" sez Jonesy. "That's not good," sez Billy. "No,no!" Jonesy backtracks, "I mean Bread." "That's even worse!!" sez Billy. Billy's favorite guitar players are Eddie Van Halen and Tony Iommi. Today is Mr. Shovel's 42nd birthday!!!

Steve finally confronted his neighbor who plays the loud, excessive sub-woofer music. He'd previously delivered a letter to their house (how polite!!), but over the weekend he walked over the house (through the bushes!!) The neighbor sees him, goes "Oh, it's you" and said he'd tone down the music. Steve is the "quietest" neighbor one could have. Near the end of the show, Steve suddenly developed a case of itchy legs and people called in to diagnose the cause. (Was it a delayed reaction to bugs in the bushes or were their mosquitoes in the studio?)
Songs included:
Black Brothers-Give Me Love UFO-Lights Out Jam-English Rose Bad Brains-Banned in DC Bernard Cribbins-Gossip Calypso
Iggy Pop called in from Miami. It's changed a lot since he first visited there, "walking around in his leather outfit talking to old Jewish cabdrivers." Iggy likes the "diffused light" in FL (in contrast to the "penetrating sunlight" in L.A.) He said that Jonesy is the loudest natural guitar player he's ever heard. "Give a bunch of guitar players the same guitar and the same Marshall stacks, Jonesy will be the loudest."
Songs included:
Dandy Warhols-Everyone Is Totally Insane Stooges-No Fun Mick Ronson-Only After Dark Sparks-This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both of Us Hedwig & The Angry Inch-Tear Me Down Clash-Clash City Rockers Caesars -Spirit Raveonettes-Ode to L.A. UFO-Cherry

Jonesy's back!! Spent his vacation driving up the coast to San Francisco. Looked at houses in Carmel, but can't afford one on his "miniscule" salary. Linda Ramone called in re the screening of "Rock & Roll High School" on Friday at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. She chastised Jonesy for playing a Journey song (who doesn't?).
Songs included:
C.W. McCall-Convoy Roger Miller-King of the Road Tony Joe White-Polk Salad Annie White Stripes-I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself The Quick-Teacher's Pet Kiss-Strutter Fleetwood Mac-Albatross Journey-Lovin', Touchin' Squeezin' Suzi Quatro-Can the can Norman Wisdom-Lambeth Walk (Norman Wisdom was a Brit comedy star of the '50s. Glen Matlock produced the song.
