In 1976 a punk revolution was sweeping the nation and one gig in Manchester would help define music for generations to come. Sex Pistols live at Manchester's Lesser Free Trade Hall on 4th June.
40 years later,
Joy Division co-founder Peter Hook shares his memories of the show alongside author David Nolan who has spent his career tracking down who was actually at the gig that hundreds claim to have seen.
We also welcome punk royalty Jordan, who famously toured with the band and became an icon of London punk subculture in the late 1970s, as well as Manchester music fan Ian Moss who believes this performance changed the city forever.

Worth also noting Mark's story : When Indie was shut down Prince offered to hold a concert to raise money...not the indie bands and rockers who had been played but Prince. He stepped up.

"How did Jonsey's Jukebox get back on the air?

Dawn Girocco, who's the general manager at KLOS, used to be the gm when I was doing Indie [103], and then Indie collapsed. Then she got another gig over at KROQ and got me over there, but they gave me a Sunday night and it didn't really do anything. She's the one who makes it happen. She believes in me and understands what Jonesy's Jukebox is and how important it is to any kind of non-robotic radio. "
